The materials recovery has always been our priority and this latest project demonstrates the desire to try to use and respect this noble material in the best possible way, overcoming the common idea of using the shapeless block in something innovative and functional.
By shapeless blocks, we mean blocks with irregular dimensional and geometric characteristics, which may have naturally split surfaces; they are usually used for maritime breakwaters or to make sheared artifacts. Cordata Project distorts the habitual use of shapeless blocks, creating unique pieces of outdoor furniture.
The use of mountaineering ropes increases the symbolic value of the work, the single shapeless blocks are joined through them, and the combination of the two materials allows the creation of works, usable, with an innovative design. In fact, the use of the ropes allows to obtain a durable, modular and naturally comfortable seat or support.
