Milano, Aprile 2026 – Marble meets industrial laminate to create new artificial “veins”: the result is Veins of Blue, the collection designed by Claudio Larcher for Odone Angelo
On the occasion of Milan Design Week 2026, as part of the MoscaPartners Variations exhibition at Palazzo Litta from 21 to 26 April, Odone Angelo – a company active in the Marble, Natural Stone and Granite sector since 1950 – presents “Veins of Blue”, a collection of furnishing accessories conceived by architect and designer Claudio Larcher that explores new possibilities for integrating natural and industrial materials.
Veins of Blue stems from a reflection on the relationship between materials and the expressive possibilities that arise from their integration.
The collection explores a compositional system in which marble and printed laminate coexist in a harmonious balance, transcending the traditional dichotomy between natural and industrial materials.
The marble surfaces are intersected by laminate inserts that create artificial ‘veins’, redefining the object’s aesthetic and introducing a new level of interpretation.
The collection includes a series of objects ranging from functional items to more sculptural pieces – some made from marble production waste – which maintain a strong sense of formal and material coherence. Each piece is conceived as part of a wider system, in which detail becomes an opportunity for exploration and storytelling.
The project is part of Odone Angelo’s research into marble as a contemporary material, capable of evolving beyond its historical legacy through innovative processes and collaborative design projects.
Through this hybridisation, marble breaks free from its role as a static, decorative ‘noble surface’ to become a material open to experimentation, capable of incorporating technological and manufacturing influences and engaging with other material languages.
